May 6, 2026 - IRAN. Shahab Azimi Hanged in Ardabil on May 6
According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, a man was hanged in Ardabil Central Prison on 6 May 2026. His identity has been established as 31-year-old Shahab Azimi, a Turkish man from Ardabil, sentenced for murder.
A source told IHR: “Shahab was transferred to the gallows from Ward 1 of the prison. He had been arrested for an honour killing around four years ago.”
At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media in Iran.
