BANGLADESH: 2 MOULVIBAZAR WAR CRIMINALS GET DEATH PENALTY

A special tribunal in Dhaka sentenced death penalty to two people from Moulvibazar and life-term jail to three others for committing crimes during the Liberation War in 1971.
The death row convict war criminals are-- Nesar Ali, 75 and Ojayer Ujer Ahmed Chowdhury, 63 while  Yunus Ahmed, 71, Samsul Hossain Tarafder, 65, and Mobarak Mia, 66 have to spend their life inside the jail until death.
The three-member tribunal led by Justice Md Shahinur Islam handed down the verdict while the convicts were present before the tribunal.
Earlier on January 8, the tribunal fixed today to give the final verdict, 51 days after keeping the verdict waiting. The tribunal completed the hearing on the closing arguments on November 20.
