three people were sentenced to death in Bangladesh in 77 women trafficking cases from June 2008 to January 2009.A total of 130 people were sentenced to various jail terms. The courts awarded life-term imprisonment to 90 people and other terms to 30 people, said a study paper at a daylong workshop on counter trafficking measures.
Seven accused in the 77 cases either died or were released during the trial, said officials, who have prepared the paper.
