the Hubei Provincial Higher Court in China upheld the death sentence for a man who was convicted of murdering eight people. The court rejected Xiong Zhenlin's appeal, saying there was no evidence that Xiong suffered mental illness when he was committing the murder. Xiong Zhenlin, 35, a junk collector, was convicted of killing eight people, including the woman he was hoping to marry and the woman's 2-year-old grandson with hatches. According to the court, Xiong commiteed the murder for love on January 4, 2009, in Luoyang Township of Hubei Province.
