April 24, 2024 - IRAN. 3 men executed in Karaj on April 24
Shahram Sharghi, Ali Reza Aghaei (Aghayi) and Pezhman Azizi
According to a report obtained by Hengaw, on Wednesday, April 24th, 2024, three inmates were executed at Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj. They have benn identified as Ali Reza Aghaei (Aghayi), 35 and a resident of Eslamshahr, Tehran province; Pezhman Azizi; and Shahram Sharghi, 35.
It was reported that Aghaei had been sentenced to death five years ago for murder, while Azizi and Sharghi faced the same fate for drug-related offenses. Sharghi had been arrested 14 years ago.
At the time of writing, none of their executions have been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.
