Majid Nasiri, Shahab Dadkhah and an unidentified man have been sentenced to death on charges related to the January 2026 protests in Shiraz. This is while Shahab had an alibi for the night of the alleged offence.
According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, three men arrested in relation to the January 2026 protests have been sentenced to death in a joint case by the Revolutionary Court. These three protesters, two of whom have been identified as Majid Nasiri, 29, and Shahab Dadkhah, 34, were sentenced to death on charges of "arson of a military base and murder of a special unit officer." They are held in Shiraz (Adel Abad) Central Prison.
An informed source told IHRNGO: "Three people have been sentenced to death in this case, but the identity of the third person is unknown. Majid Nasiri is from Jahrom. Shahab Dadkhah is from Shiraz and is a car mechanic."
"Shahab Dadkhah denied any involvement in the murder or even attending the protests throughout all stages of the proceedings, maintaining that he was working late at the garage on the night of the incident. However, the court issued a death sentence without considering his defence. He is the father of a 9-year-old girl."
The source concluded: "On the day the ceasefire was announced, prison officials celebrated a victory in the prison yard. While the prison yard was open and the infirmary was open for a few hours, no medical attention was provided to sick prisoners."
During the 40-day war, more than 50 people were arrested in Shiraz and its suburbs for charges related to "using Starlink" or "sending messages to foreign media."
