20 October 2023 :

October 12, 2023 - The medical team at Fajr Hospital in Tehran has informed Armita Garavand's family that it is nearly impossible to restore their child's health, as her condition has remained unchanged during the past eleven days that she has been in a coma.
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization For Human Rights, On Thursday, October 12, 2023, the doctors at Fajar Hospital, while emphasizing the medical impossibility of treating Armita Garavand, expressed their disappointment in the treatment of this 16-year-old girl who has fallen victim to compulsory hijab.
According to a source close to Armita Garavand's family, this teenage girl has not undergone any surgery since the first day due to the deterioration of her condition, and the hospital has solely focused on maintaining her vital signs.
The source added that six doctors who have assessed Armita's condition have explicitly stated, "Armita's life and death are in God's hands, and we should maintain faith in God."
Armita Garavand's family continues to experience ongoing psychological distress due to their child's condition, as well as the monitoring and pressure from security institutions.
Armita Garavand has been in a coma for eleven days, having been intubated and connected to a ventilator immediately after cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Her vital signs are continuously monitored, but as of the last day, they have become unstable, raising concerns about her prognosis.
On the morning of Sunday, October 1, 2023, Armita Garavand, a 16-year-old originally from Kermanshah and residing in Tehran, was physically assaulted by officers at the "Shohada" metro station in Tehran for non-compliance with mandatory hijab. She was subsequently transported to Fajr Hospital in the city. The location of her hospitalization has remained under stringent security measures to this day.
In the context of human rights, this incident represents a severe infringement upon citizenship rights and the freedom of choice and individual opinions. Armita Garavand has suffered physical harm as a result of her decision not to wear the mandatory hijab, and her fundamental rights have been violated.
