October 22, 2023 - Davoud Heidari executed in Karaj on October 22.
According to information obtained by IHR, a man was executed in Karaj Penitentiary on 22 October. His identity has been established as 49-year-old Davoud Heidari, sentenced to death for drug-related charges.
Sources told IHR: “Davoud Heidari was from Shamiran and had been sentenced to death for carrying 25 kilograms of morphine.”
IHR previously reported the execution of Khosro Naghiani for the same charges at the same prison that day.
Davoud Heidari and Khosro Naghiani were transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for their executions from Ward 2 of the prison. At the time of writing, neither of their executions have been reported inside Iran.
