Four Prisoners Hanged at Orumiyeh Central Prison (Urmia). The news was released on October 30 by Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN). A similar news was released on October 29 by IHR, the date was the same, the prison was the same, but the names are different.
KHRN has obtained information that Yasser Cheshmeh Anvar, Ali Malekzadeh and Zinolabedin Hosseinzadeh were sentenced to death in public about six years ago for the murder of five people at Orumiyeh, but the death sentence was carried out in Orumiyeh Central Prison due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus and the opposition of the Orumiyeh Prosecutor.
Another executed prisoner was Musa Rahmani from Orumiyeh who was sentenced to a few years ago for murder.
Morteza Nouri, who was transferred to solitary confinement with the four prisoners yesterday to serve his sentence, has been returned to the labour ward after obtaining the leniency of the victim’s family.
KHRN published a report on the suicide attempt of Ali Malekzadeh last night. The prisoner committed suicide by cutting his hand vein in solitary confinement. He was returned to solitary confinement after being transferred to a medical centre for treatment.
KHRN, also in this case tracing the news given yesterday by IHR, but with a different name, reports the suicide of Ali Malekzadeh, who should have been hanged together with the others 4. KHRN reports the information in an unclear way, they simultaneously speak of attempted suicide and suicide occurred.
The IHR news reported the names of Mousa Rahmani, Morteza Heidari, Yassin PourMohammadi and Iraj (or Zeinal, surname unknown). Only the name of Mousa (Musa) Rahmani is in common between the two sources, the others are completely different. The suicide’s name is also different: Ali Maleki for IHR, and Ali Malekzadeh, but in this case it could be just two different ways of transliterating the name from Farsi to English. KHRN also indicates Ali Malekzadeh both as one of the executed and as the prisoner who would have attempted or carried out suicide.
