December 27, 2023 - Mansour Salamat killed under the torture of security agents on December 27
On Wednesday, December 27, 2023, a Kurdish citizen from Urmia named Mansour Salamat killed under the torture of security agents. Mansour Salamat was a native of Pesan village, Tergor region of Urmia. He was arrested by the security forces on the charge of possessing a hunting weapon. After being transferred to “Nine Pele” Detention Center in Urmia, he was subjected to the most severe physical and mental tortures.
The security agencies in Urmia called his family on the evening of Wednesday, December 27 and announced that he had a heart attack and died due to anxiety and stress. According to Mansour’s relatives, he was in perfect health before his arrest. The cause of his death can only be due to the severity of the tortures applied to him.
These institutions handed over the body of Mansour Salamat to his family on the morning of Thursday, December 28, 2023, on the condition that the news is not disclosed to the media. His family buried the body in his native village.
