May 31, 2026 - IRAN. Parviz Valizadeh executed in Zanjan on May 31
On May 31, authorities carried out the execution of Parviz Valizadeh, a 27-year-old Turk from Zanjan, at Zanjan Central Prison. He had been sentenced to death for murder in a case authorities said was motivated by what they described as the preservation of family honor.
Iranian state media had not reported the execution.
