Iraqi Justice Ministry reported receiving 21 presidential decrees for executing convicts charged with terrorism, after President Fuad Masum had announced, two days before, the endorsement of the long-awaited death sentences to “protect the security of the society.” In a televised statement, he pointed that he approved the death sentences which were delayed for the last few years, fearing to be “vengeance cases” among different Iraqi blocs.
