The Diyala Criminal Court has sentenced a terrorist to death over killing 19 persons in an armed attack against a village in the province, the High Judicial Council said.
In a statement, Abdul-Sattar al-Bayraqdar, a spokesperson of the council, said Diyala Criminal Court “sentenced a terrorism convict to death over carrying several crimes and joining the al-Qaeda.”
Among the crimes committed by the convict were “killing 19 persons, kidnapping two others and injuring one in an armed attack against al-Amiriya village in Diyala,” the statement added.
