95% of Pakistanis agree that convicted terrorists should be given the death penalty, while only 4% disagree, according to a Survey carried out after the gruesome incident of the massacre of children at the Army Public School on 16 December 2014 in Peshawar.The study was released by Gilani Research Foundation and conducted by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.
A nationally representative sample of 2,582 adult men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country was asked, “Please tell us, to what extent do you agree or disagree with the following sentence: ‘Convicted terrorists should be given the death penalty’?” In response to this question, 81% respondents said they agree with this statement a lot, 14% respondents said they agree with this statement, while 4% respondents disagree with the statement and 1% did not respond.
