30 September 2005 :

a man convicted of raping and murdering a six-year-old girl was executed in central Pakistan.
Khadim Hussain, 36, was hanged at a prison in Bahawalpur, about 500 kilometres southwest of capital, Islamabad, an area police official said.
The man was arrested in 1988, convicted and sentenced to death. Superior courts upheld the decision. In a last bid to save his life, Hussain had sent an application to President Pervez Musharraf for clemency, who turned it down earlier this month.
