Western Europe should not expect Russia to abolish the death penalty in the near future, First Deputy Duma Speaker Oleg Morozov said.
"We do not see the issue on the agenda," Morozov told a news conference at Interfax.
"If we organize a referendum on the issue of abolishing the death penalty, then nine out of ten people will support the death penalty," the MP said.
