Saudi authorities executed a man for raping a woman at knifepoint in front of her family, the Interior Ministry announced. It said in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency that Saad ibn Abed ibn Abyed Al-Qiladi Al-Rashidi had been convicted of raping an unnamed woman while drunk. He “forced his way into a house and dragged a woman out to an abandoned yard, threatening her with a knife ... He then raped her repeatedly in front of her family and others,” the statement said. The suspect also threatened security men and was found to be in possession of witchcraft instruments, said the statement.(Sources: Arab News, 25/06/2005)
