SAUDI ARABIA: TWO MEN EXECUTED FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING AND MURDER

A Pakistani man convicted of drug trafficking and a Saudi national convicted of murder were beheaded in Riyadh, the interior ministry said.
Mohammad Shahbal of Pakistan was beheaded for smuggling heroin into the country. The drugs were found in capsules he had swallowed.
In a separate case, Saudi national Awida Utaibi was executed after a court found him guilty of murdering a relative.
The beheadings bring to six the number of people executed across the kingdom so far this year. Last year, Saudi authorities executed 87 people, compared with 78 in 2013.
