nine people received the death penalty from two courts in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka. According to sources, Matara High Courts found five people guilty of killing a person. Balapitiya High Courts sentenced another 4 to death for the same offense.(Sources: Colombo Page, 04/11/2008)
