04 October 2012 :

In Sri Lanka, Colombo high court sentenced a woman to death for the possession and distribution of illegal drugs.
High court judge Preeti Padman Surasena ordered the death sentence as the charges against the accused were proved beyond reasonable doubt.
The  woman was previously arrested by the police narcotics bureau in 2002 in  the Maligawatte area for possession of 3.5 grams of heroin.
