Uzbekistan's upper house of parliament adopted amendments to the constitution that would abolish use of the death penalty, RFE/RL's Uzbek Service reported. The amendments would replace capital punishment with life imprisonment.

The amendments would replace capital punishment with life imprisonment.Egypt’s Court of Cassation issued a final and irrevocable ruling on March 15, 2026 upholding the death sentence for Karim Selim, known as the “Tagamoa killer,” for murdering three women and disposing their bodies in desert areas.
