A court controlled by Yemen's Houthi rebels in the Red Sea port city of Hodeidah has sentenced 16 men to death for allegedly "spying for Saudi Arabia", Yemen Press agency reported on 25 August 2020.
The court convicted them for espionage that led to the killing of top rebel leader Saleh al-Sammad in April 2018 by a Saudi-led coalition airstrike in Hodeidah.
The defendants in this case are Mohammed bin Salman, Mohammed bin Zayed, Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi, Ali Mohsen Saleh al-Ahmar, Ahmad Obaid bin Daghar, Mohammed Ali al-Maqdeshi, Tariq Mohammad Abdullah Saleh, Ali Ibrahim al-Qozi, Abdul Malik Ahmad Mohammed Hamid, Mohammed Khalid Ali Hejj, Mohammed Ibrahim Ali Al-Qozi, Mohammed Yahya Mohammed Nouh, Ibrahim Mohammed Abdullah Aqeel, Mohammed Mohammed Ali al-Mashkhari, Abdul Aziz Ali Mohammed al-Aswad and Mu’adh Abdul Rahman Abdullah Abbas.
