May 3, 2026 - IRAN. 4 men executed in Isfahan on May 3

Peyman Mohammadi, Mohammadreza Mohammadi, Abbas Rahimi Azar and Mehdi Badfar

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, four men were hanged in Isfahan (Dastgerd) Central Prison on 3 May 2026. Their identities have been established as 37-year-old Peyman Mohammadi (left photo), 41-year-old Mohammadreza Mohammadi (right photo), 29-year-old Abbas Rahimi Azar, an Isfahan native, and 33-year-old Mehdi Badfar. They were all sentenced for murder.

A source told IHR: "Peyman and Mohammadreza Mohammadi, who were brothers, were arrested around four years ago for the murder of a man named 'Fakhreddin.’ Abbas Rahimi Azar was arrested about three years ago for an honour killing.”

The source added: "Mehdi Badfar was a farmer from Chabahar. He was on death row for five years and had a physical disability; three fingers on his left hand had previously been severed while working with a threshing machine."

At the time of writing, their executions have not been reported by domestic media in Iran.
