February 24, 2026 - IRAN. Seven minors arrested by authorities in five cities
Mohammadreza Asadi, Mohammad Javad Zeinivand, Mohammad Piri, Ali Zeinivandi, Masih Inalouei, Diana Taherabadi, Taha Ali Mirzaei
At least seven minors, including one Lor child and four Kurdish children, have been arrested by Iranian authorities in the cities of Dareh Shahr, Dehloran, Shahin Shahr, Karaj, and Saveh.
According to information received by Hengaw, the seven individuals, all under the age of 18, were arrested by government forces and remain in a state of uncertainty.
Their details are as follows:
- Mohammadreza Asadi, 17, and
- Mohammad Javad Zeinivand, 14, both from Dareh Shahr in Ilam Province, were arrested on 18 February 2026, by government forces in the city and transferred to undisclosed locations. Their fate remains unknown.
Two Kurdish children from Dehloran,
- Mohammad Piri, 17, and
- Ali Zeinivandi, 16, were arrested on 17 February 2026, by government forces in the city and transferred to undisclosed locations. Their fate remains unknown.
- Masih Inalouei, a 15-year-old Lor child residing in Shahin Shahr in Isfahan Province, was arrested at his workplace on 17 February 2026, by government forces. He is a child laborer. One week after his arrest, his fate remains unknown.
- Diana Taherabadi, a 16-year-oldgirl from Karaj, was arrested on 25 January 2026, after security forces raided her family home. She was transferred to the Juvenile Correction and Rehabilitation Center of Kachouei Prison. In her last phone call with her family on Friday, 20 February 2026, she stated that she would be transferred to the Forensic Medicine Office to obtain a certificate of "mental maturity." Her lawyer has since been informed that the presiding judge indicated that a notification regarding the formation of a Juvenile Court to examine the charges against her would be issued to her family within 20 days.
- Taha Ali Mirzaei, a 17-year-old from Saveh, was arrested on 9 January 2026, during protests in the city. He remains in a state of uncertainty in Saveh prison.
Precise information regarding the charges and the fate of several of these children remains unavailable.
