Keyvan Amiri, a 45-year-old protester, was killed during the January 2026 protests in Iranshahr. A source close to his family has provided IHR with details indicating that he was shot and fatally wounded during the crackdown.

Born in 1980 in Shoveysheh, a district of the Kurdistan province, Keyvan Amiri was single and had lived in Sistan and Baluchestan province for around 20 years. According to the source, his parents had passed away years earlier. He worked as a steel fixer and was in occasional contact with his siblings. He last spoke to relatives on 8 January 2026. On 11 February, one of Keyvan’s friends informed the family that he had been killed and that his body was at Iran Hospital in Iranshahr. The family immediately travelled to Iranshahr.

The source added: “At Iran Hospital, the family viewed Keyvan’s body. It was severely damaged. There was a bullet wound to his throat and a stab wound to his side. The family learned that he had been shot and had died on the evening of 9 January, but they were only informed a month later.”

According to the source, Keyvan Amiri’s family faced pressure from security forces. “They were told that the burial had to take place in Iranshahr and without publicity. The family, who were in shock, were forced to accept it.”
