A man idenfied only as Houshang was hanged on August 25 in Bandar Abbas on drug related charges, the judiciary's Mizan news agency reported today. The state media identified the victim as Houshang.

The Kuala Lumpur High Court in the Malaysian capital on January 8, 2026 sentenced a Nigerian national to death by hanging after finding him guilty of murdering his step-grandson by throwing the four-year-old child from the third floor of an apartment in the city six years ago.
