IRAN: 8 PEOPLE HANGED IN KERMAN

Eight people were hanged in the prison of Kerman, south east of Iran, reported the official web site of the Iranian judiciary in Kerman.
According to the report the convicts were all sentenced in Kerman’s revolutionary court and were identified as: "Sayyad N." and "Jalal Sh." convicted of armed smugling of 1165 kilos of opium; "Dariush A." for participation in carrying 7 kilos and 700 gram of heroin; "Rouhollah R." for participation in attempts against internal security through buying, keeping and distribution of 4800 kilos of opium og 150 kilos of morfin; "Farhad K" for keeping and selling 580 kilos of opium; "Ahmad Kh.", "Mohammad G." and "Mohammad R." for participation in a smugler league and carrying 2317 kilos opium.
The charges have not been confirmed by independent sources.
