A man, identified only as Reza, was hanged on April 22 at Vakilabad Prison. The man, a Kurdish, was sentenced for murder in 2013.
A special tribunal in Bangladesh on June 28, 2026 gave the death sentence in absentia to three police officers, including the former police chief of the capital Dhaka, in connection with the killing of protesters during a 2024 uprising that led to the collapse of the government.
