The state-run IRNA news agency, cited the General and Revolutionary Prosecutor of Kelardasht, Seyyed Farzad Hosseini, announcing the execution of this 43-year-old woman in the Prison of Noshahr (Nowshahr). IRNA and the semi-official news agency, ROKNA, identified this woman as “Z.S.M.” Other sources (women.ncr-iran e IHR) a day after said her full name was Zahra Safari Moghaddam, and she was sentenced to death for murdering a five-year-old boy named Bardia Hatami. Quoting the woman, IRNA stated that she had been under stress when committing the murder. Sources told IHR that Zahra was suffering from a mental disability. This is the 90th woman executed in Iran during Rouhani’s term in office since 2013. According to women.ncr-iran, who however speaks of "unconfirmed sources", the count of women hanged under Rouhani would rise to 91: a woman, identified only as Fariba, would have been hanged on June 19 along with Fatemeh Nassiri. Fatemeh Nassiri was hanged in Raja'i Shahr's prison.
