April 21, 2024 - IRAN. Abdolbari (Abdulbari) Pashtu (Pashto) and Alireza Pourshahbaz (Shahbaz) executed in Karaj on April 21
According to information obtained by IHR, two men were executed in Ghezel-Hesar Prison, in Karaj, on 21 April. Their identities have been established as Abdolbari Pashtu from Afghanistan and 38-year-old Alireza Pourshahbaz (Shahbaz). They were sentenced for drug-related charges.
The two men were transferred for execution with another man named Ali Jafar Taheri whose execution was postponed due to unknown reasons.
At the time of writing, none of their executions have been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.
