A Kurdish prisoner, Alam Karimi, was hanged on the morning of October 10 at Sanandaj Central Prison, a source told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN). Karimi had been arrested about ten years ago for murdering his nephew and has been “denying the charges even during the execution,” the source added. Karimi had been transferred to the solitary confinement cell at Sanandaj prison on 8 October.
A Nigerian court on Tuesday sentenced a Chinese national to death after finding him guilty of killing his girlfriend, a government official told The Associated Press, vowing to recommend execution if he unsuccessfully appeals the ruling.
