Morocco: justice pronounces a new death sentence

08 June 2018 :

February 28, 2018: First instance criminal court at the Court of Appeal of Rabat sentenced to death a defendant for murder and mutilation of cadaver.

The he accused was arrested on July 30, 2016 in Salé after finding the parts of a woman's body in a suitcase on a train from Rabat.
The other remains of the same victim were found in a garbage can nearby the Nouzhat Hassan park.
The investigation also led to the discovery of several saws used to mutilate the victim at the man’s house. The man was found responsible of several counts, including "premeditated voluntary homicide", "ambush and mutilation of a corpse" "acts of brutality and obscenity on a corpse".
