23 January 2020 :

A Kano State High Court sitting on 20 January 2020 sentenced 22-year-old Ibrahim Suleiman to death by hanging for killing a 5-year-old girl.
The court ordered the hanging to death of Suleiman, a resident of Kaya quarters in Gaya local government of the state.
It would be recalled that the convict was first arraigned before the court on 5 February 2019 on a one-count charge of culpable homicide.
Suleiman who was represented by Mustapha Idris pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against him.
The prosecutor, Lamido Soron Dinki, informed the court that Suleiman on 5 June 2018 at about 7:30 am used a stick to strike a 5-year-old girl, Bilkisu Garba, on her head.
He added that Garba died as a result of the injury inflicted on her by Suleiman.
