Wang Bo, former vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Inner Mongolia autonomous region, was sentenced to death with a two-year reprieve for accepting bribes exceeding 449 million yuan ($62.88 million), a court in Hubei province announced on October 10, 2025.

Madras high court on October 11, 2025 commuted the death sentence awarded to a man to life imprisonment in a case where he murdered his cousin because she refused to give him money to settle his debts, in 2021.
