15 December 2017 :
Mobile County Circuit Court Judge Ben Brooks accepted a jury’s recommendation of the death penalty in the capital murder case of Jamal Jackson, 27, Black. The man was convicted of stabbing and strangling his girlfriend Satori Richardson, 26, Black, on July 4, 2014. After his conviction, on March 29 the the jury recommended the death sentence by a margin of 10-2.
