The Arizona state senate voted unanimously to pass SB 1314, which would eliminate several aggravating circumstances whose broad application has led to constitutional challenges to the state's capital punishment statute. The 30-0 vote on the floor of the senate followed approval by the Senate Judiciary Committee on a 7-0 vote on February 7 (see).
