USA - Oregon. The Senate Judiciary Committee passed SB 1013 to reduce use of death penalty

15 April 2019 :

The Senate Judiciary Committee on April 8 voted 5-2 to recommend passage of an amended version of a bill that would redefine what murders can be subject to the death penalty. As introduced, SB 1013 would have limited future application of the death penalty to acts of terrorism resulting in the deaths of two or more people. The amendments would leave the death penalty in place for prison murders committed by a person who is already incarcerated for a prior intentional murder and for the murder of a victim aged 13 or younger.
