USA - Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court granted a new penalty hearing to Terrance Williams.

24 August 2017 :

An evenly divided Pennsylvania Supreme Court has upheld the decision of a Philadelphia trial court granting a new penalty hearing to Terrance Williams. The court split 2-2, with three justices who had participated in an earlier appeal recusing themselves. The case was back before the state court after the U.S. Supreme Court had vacated the state court's prior ruling against Williams because the district attorney who had personally authorized capitally prosecuting Williams had participated as a judge in that appeal.
