TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO. TWO MEN TO HANG FOR MURDER
March 31, 2008: a Trinidad and Tobago judge sentenced two men to hang for the 2003 murder of Ramkhelawan Ray Charan.
Justice Joan Charles held court at which a 12-member jury found Timothy Hunt and Shazard Khan guilty of Charanâs murder.
The jury gave the verdict in the quiet Hall of Justice at about 6.30 pm and Justice Charles pronounced the death penalty on them as the murder trial came to an end at the Port-of-Spain Fifth Criminal Court.
Hunt shot and killed Ramkhelawan Ray Charan, 59, at his home on Mon Plasir Road, Cunupia in August 2003.Charan was an exporter of exotic fish.
Khan was arrested after he was identified as being the getaway driver of the white Nissan B-15 car. (Sources: Newsday, 01/04/2008)
