UAE: MAN SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR MURDER OF HIS WIFE
April 30, 2015: An Arab man who hacked his wife to death with a cleaver has been sentenced to death by Ras Al Khaimah Criminal Court.
The incident took place in February 2013 at the coupleâs home, Al Ittihad, the Arabic-language sister paper of The National reported.
The victimâs son was the first to find the body, after he broke open the front door.
Investigations revealed there was a fight between the couple, as shown by clothes and accessories scattered around the bedroom. A broken knife and a large cleaver were also collected from the crime scene.
The woman was found with cuts on her elbows and stab wounds all over her body.
CID identified the suspect, A J A, 47, after a witness reported that the murderer had called him and asked him to look after his children, shortly after carrying out the murder.
The children, one son, H H J, 21, and two daughters, S A J, 16, and S A J, 13, were not at home when the crime took place.
The suspect was arrested in another emirate after fleeing the scene.
Despite the son retracting his âretaliation in kindâ order, the court sentenced the man to death. (Sources: thenational.ae, 30/04/2015)
