PAKISTAN: ONE MORE MURDER CONVICT HANGED IN VEHARI
April 29, 2015: another murder convict was hanged at the district jail of Vehari, raising the total number of executions to 99 since Pakistan reversed the self-imposed moratorium on the death penalty in December 2014 after the Taliban school massacre.
Abdul Ghafoor had abducted his eight-year niece and killed her after sexual assault in Kahror Pakka on 20 June 1991. The convict suspected his wife to be in illicit relationship with his brother. (Sources: SAMAA, 29/04/2015)
