PAKISTAN: ANOTHER FOUR MURDER CONVICTS HANGED IN PUNJAB
April 22, 2015: Another four murder convicts were executed in Lahore, Sahiwal and Bahawalpur cities of Punjab province, raising the total number of executions to 95 since Pakistan reversed the self-imposed moratorium on the death penalty in December 2014 after the Taliban school massacre.
They were identified as Zahid Hussain, Nazeer Ahmed, Rizwan and Moazzam Khan.
Zahid Hussain was sent to the gallows in the Central Jail of Sahiwal. He was convicted of killing police officer Fida Hussain in 2000.
Nazeer Ahmed was hanged in Bahawalpurâs New Central Jail. He had killed a citizen named Mushtaq in 2002 over a property dispute.
Two more convicts were executed in Lahoreâs Kot Lakhpat prison. Rizwan had murdered six people in 2006, while Moazzam Khan was convicted of killing a man named Nasir Iqbal in 1995. (Sources: Dunya News/arynews.tv, Hands Off Cain, 22/04/2015)
