the mandatory six-week period for referring their cases to the Chinese Supreme Court for final review passed on May 21, but there’s still no information on the cases and even the whereabouts of the four Tibetans sentenced to death on Apr 8 for their alleged roles in the March 14-15, 2008 protests in Lhasa.
The Intermediate People’s court of Lhasa sentenced Lobsang Gyaltsen, 27, and Loyak, 25, to death, as well as Kangtsug, 22, and Tenzin Phuntsok, 27, to death with a two-year reprieve.
