Eleven prisoners were hanged in the prison of Shiraz (southern Iran) early in the morning.
According to the official web site of the Iranian judiciary in Fars province, all the eleven prisoners were convicted of drug trafficking. None of the prisoners were identified by name and they were all sentenced to death behind the closed doors by the revolutionary court.
The charges have not been confirmed by independent sources.
