IRAN HANGS 10 MURDERERS IN MASS EXECUTION

Executions in Mashhad, August 1, 2007

Iran hanged nine men and a woman convicted of murder in Tehran's Evin prison, the Fars news agency reported.
The official overseeing the execution was quoted as saying "the woman was convicted of killing her temporary marriage husband by cutting him into pieces."
Vatan Emrouz newspaper, identifying the woman as Fatemeh Pajoh, said she was "suspicious" of her temporary husband, but gave no details.
Some Iranian human rights groups have said she killed her husband for raping her daughter.
The men executed were identified as: Yousef G., 36, and Mojtaba A..25, convicted of joint rubbery and murder. Ali, 35, convicted of rubbery and murder. Abbas J. convicted of murder. Masoud, 39, convicted of murder. Ali and Mohsen convicted of kidnapping and murder. Amir Hossein Sh., convicted of armed rubbery and murder, and Salman, 46, convicted of murder.
