IRAN: STUDENT’S DEATH SENTENCE FOR THROWING ROCKS REVERSED

18 May 2010 :

in Iran, Tehran’s Prosecutor General, Abbas Jaafari Dowlatabadi, announced that the death sentence of Mohammad Amin Valian, a 20- year- old student, for throwing three rocks during a protest, was rejected by the appeals court and he was sentenced to a 3.5 year prison sentence and a fine of $300 (3 million Rials).
The International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran welcomes the reversal of Valian’s sentence.
