KAZAKHSTAN: PARLIAMENT PASSED AMENDMENTS TO LAW ON CAPITAL PUNISHMENT

The deputies of Majilis of Parliament of Kazakhstan at the plenary session agreed with the amendments introduced by the Senate on the bill on amendments and additions to some Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Capital Punishment.
Thus, the document, according to the regulations, is considered accepted by the Parliament and is being forwarded to the leader of the state to be signed into law.
According to Majilis deputy, Nikolay Turetsky, the general part of the Criminal Code suggests imposing the death penalty only for the terrorist crimes causing people's death and for heavy and especially grave crimes committed in time of war.
