MALAYSIA: FEDERAL COURT CONFIRMS GALLOWS FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING

06 August 2009 :

the Malaysian Federal Court upheld the death sentence imposed on a part-time taxi driver for trafficking 937.8 grams of cannabis.
Justices Malanjum, Zakaria and Yusoff dismissed M. Kathavarayan's final appeal. Kathavarayan, now 60, was sentenced to death by the Alor Setar High Court on October 29, 2003 for trafficking drugs in Alor Setar on May 31, 2000.
