PAKISTAN: 4 AWARDED DEATH SENTENCE ON 3 COUNTS

In Pakistan, Anti-Terrorist Court (ATC) No-II, Rawalpindi, Judge Rana Masood Akhtar sentenced four accused to death on three counts for each in a kidnapping for ransom and murder case.
The court also awarded 10 years imprisonment and fine of Rs2,00,000 each, besides the convict would have to forfeit their property as penalty.
According to details, the convicts, Fazal Ameen, Muhammad Aslam, Muhammad Javed and Ghulam Hussain, kidnapped 17-year-old Rehman Ghani and demanded Rs 2,000,000 as ransom for his release.
However, the accused did not free Rehman despite receiving Rs400,000 and later they killed the boy by choking him with a muffler and buried his body in Kabarkhana near Pirwadhai.
The Pirwadhai Police registered a case under Sections 365-A/302 PPC and Section 7 of Anti-Terrorism Act 1997 against the accused on request of the boy’s father.
The police arrested the accused and recovered the body. In the meantime, an accused, Muhammad Din, attempted to run away from the scene.
