ZAMBIA: THREE TO HANG FOR AGGRAVATED ROBBERY

the Ndola High Court in Zambia sentenced three villagers of Chiengi in Luapula Province to death for aggravated robbery. Justice Muyinda Wanki sentenced Alex Chola, 36, a fisherman, James Ng'onga, 36, and Gershom Chishala, 46, both peasant farmers, to death.
On July 18, 2006, while armed with a handgun, they allegedly robbed John Ng'ambi of a radio cassette, one overdress, slippers, a wall clock, pots, dishes and K70, 000 cash, all worth K468,000.
